25
Years of Spanish Art
The De Buena Tinta
screen-print workshop has a history which spans the last 25 years,
and the work they have done with more than 200 artists in this time quite
nicely sums up what has happened in Spanish art in the last quarter of
the 20th century.

& Javier Cebrián
The
Magic of Cuenca
Painter, sculptor, photographer and screen printer, Javier Cebrián,
and his "compañera," Concha Lledó founded their
workshop in the magical and art-pregnant town of Cuenca in 1976. By a
felicitous coincidence their neighbor in that town of cliffhanging houses
and one of Spain's most important contemporary art museums was the Spanish
painter, José Guerrero, and Guerrero was quick to offer them space
in his house for their workshop. He became their first important artist
client and went on to promote their work among his artist friends like
Gerardo Rueda and Luis Gordillo.

Mediterranean
Flavor
In 1992 Javier and Concha took advantage of the opportunity to move their
workshop down by the edge of the Mediterranean, in Altea, Alicante, where
they have worked ever since. There they print and edit traditional screen
print work for Spanish and international artists. Due to their custom
of sharing the editions with their artists, they have accumulated over
the years one of Spain's most important collections of contemporary screen
prints. It is this collection which they now offer directly to collectors
and dealers worldwide. We are pleased to show a brief preview of it on
this page. For more images and information go
directly to De Buena Tinta's own website.
